In the heart of Cabardès appellation, the vineyard of 160 hectares (of which 30 hectares in renting) is leaned against the Montagne Noire and enjoys all year round the Languedoc sun and fresh Atlantic. On this unique terroir, at the crossroads of oceanic and Mediterranean winds, a veritable partition between diversity of terroirs, climatic typicity and control of assemblages is played out. The Cabardès appellation is the only Languedoc appellation with the obligation to assemble at least 40% of Atlantic grapes (Cabernet, Merlot) and 40% of Mediterranean varieties (Syrah, Grenache).
Maison Ventenac has committed to a sustainable agriculture approach certified by the leading organisation ‘TERRA VITIS’. However, building on a desire to take respect for the land even further, internal specifications require that no chemical inputs be used on our soils. The transition has been underway since 2015, and almost all of the estate is now weeded mechanically.
Maison Ventenac proposes original, unique wines, always remaining true to the same principle : respect for the grape and its organoleptic qualities. All our production benefits from the same focus on quality, from our Pays d’Oc PGI cuvées all the way up to our premium Cabardès PDO wines.

White Cassandre Vermentino, Maison Ventenac VDF 2020: White peach, lime, tangerine, the attack is tense but with a nice sweetness in the middle of the mouth, on the length. Cuvee Cassandre from Maison Ventenac is a must to try.

750ml Red Le Paria Grenache, Maison Ventenac VDP 2021:A juicy and explosive wine, Le Paria is a fresh and intense expression of Grenache. This wine displays notes of raspberry and strawberry, with hints of white pepper.
750ml Red L’Idiot Merlot, Maison Ventenac VDP 2020:A juicy, focused and balanced on the palate with great freshness and minerality reminiscent of river stone.
750ml Red La Muse Syrah, Maison Ventenac VDP 2020:This 100% syrah is from one of our current faves – Maison Ventenac who make all sorts of wild and wonderful wines from across France. This one is a bit more familiar – some would say the French take on an Aussie classic. It’s a fresh and nervy syrah (or shiraz), with a perfect medium body, hints of spice and heaps of red fruit.
750ml Red Le Mas, Maison Ventenac Cabardes 2015:Blend of cabernet franc, syrah, merlot with variable percentages according to the vintage. “Le Mas”. “El Mas”.”Le Plus”. It doesn’t matter. It’s the one that goes the whole way. The one that makes us advance, that pushes us to do things well.
